Field Operations Specialist

Overland AIEllensburg, WA
$81,000 - $100,000Hybrid

About The Position

We are looking for a hands-on, highly organized Field Operations Specialist to support frequent field testing and demonstrations of high-speed autonomous off-road vehicles in remote and austere environments. This is an execution-focused role; you will be on the ground, managing equipment and inventory, packing out for events, and keeping field operations running smoothly. If you thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy working with your hands, and can teach yourself a new software tool in a day or two, this is the job for you.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in field operations, logistics, event production, or a related hands-on role.
  • Strong experience using and maintaining operational tracking systems—such as Jira, Airtable, Confluence

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory and physical assets across multiple projects or events.
  • Tech-savvy: you're comfortable in JIRA, Airtable, or similar tools, or you pick them up fast without being asked. You’re not scared to open a terminal if needed. Bonus if you have experience administering a project management or ticketing platform.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; you don't let things fall through the cracks.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership, works well in a small team, and operates effectively without a defined playbook.
  • Field-test forward: you genuinely enjoy long days outdoors, working in adverse conditions, and getting your hands dirty to get the job done.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Familiarity with military operations, jargon, or experience working alongside military units or contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Execute field tests and demonstrations both locally (Ellensburg and Yakima areas) and at sites across the continental United States.
  • Own inventory control and asset management: tracking, staging, packing, and maintaining equipment and supplies across multiple field events.
  • Lead event pack-out and pack-in operations: loading, transport, on-site setup and teardown of field test infrastructure.
  • Attend & support field tests multiple times weekly locally; travel monthly for out-of-state events, occasionally on short notice.
  • Operate off-road vehicles and light equipment in support of testing (training provided).
  • Maintain and improve operational tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, confluence, logistics software).
  • Coordinate with team members and external stakeholders to schedule, resource, and execute field events on time and within budget.
  • Support communication with government or military stakeholders as needed for site access, scheduling, and logistics.

Benefits

  • Equity compensation
  • Best-in-class healthcare, dental, and vision plans
  • Flexible PTO
  • 401k with company match
  • Parental leave.
