About The Position

We are seeking a Field Operations Manager to lead field testing and inspection operations within our Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection services group. This leadership role is responsible for managing field personnel, promoting a strong safety culture, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring high-quality service delivery across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction, construction materials testing, special inspections, or related construction quality assurance services.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring field technicians and inspectors preferred.
  • ICC certifications, including Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, or other applicable special inspection certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing field operations, equipment programs, safety initiatives, and technical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of field technicians, inspectors, and special inspectors.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures, including radiation safety programs and field safety protocols.
  • Mentor, train, and develop field staff to support professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Coordinate staffing and scheduling needs with dispatch and project management teams.
  • Serve as a liaison between field personnel, project managers, clients, and contractors.
  • Monitor field operations to ensure quality standards, project requirements, and client expectations are met.
  • Oversee field equipment inventory, maintenance, repairs, calibration, and replacement.
  • Manage company vehicle and fleet operations to ensure safe and efficient utilization.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and workforce planning.
  • Support operational improvements, resource allocation, and department goals.
  • Respond to field challenges and provide technical and operational guidance to staff.
