Field Operations Manager

Dynamic SLRHouston, TX
$75,000 - $90,000Onsite

About The Position

Dynamic EcoHome is looking for a Field Operations Manager to build Houston into a high-performing, scalable field operation. This role is designed for an ambitious engineer who wants more than a traditional technical position. You will apply engineering judgment to real-world operations, lead field teams, redesign inefficient processes, solve complex installation challenges, and directly influence the growth of an entire market. You will have the autonomy to challenge existing methods, introduce better systems, develop future leaders, and turn your ideas into measurable improvements. If you naturally see what an operation could become, move quickly to improve it, and know how to bring people along, this role offers the ownership and visibility to make a significant impact. This is not a maintenance role. It is an opportunity to build, lead, improve, and scale.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in construction operations, field management, engineering operations, or project management
  • Proven success leading field teams, schedules, projects, or operational improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to improve performance, develop employees, and lead through growth or change
  • Experience managing labor utilization, budgets, schedules, quality, safety, or productivity metrics
  • An engineering, manufacturing, construction, or process-improvement background is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred
  • Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business, or related degrees will also be considered
  • Leadership experience gained through athletics, coaching, military service, student organizations, internships, competitions, or entrepreneurship
  • Evidence of taking ownership, influencing others, solving problems, and delivering results beyond assigned responsibilities
  • Strong interest in moving beyond an individual technical role and developing into an operational leader
  • This opportunity is especially suited for a high-energy, visionary leader who is motivated by autonomy, growth, influence, and visible results.
  • You are likely to thrive in this role if you: See future possibilities and naturally develop a plan to reach them
  • Move quickly from analysis to action
  • Prefer ownership and decision-making authority over detailed instructions
  • Communicate with confidence and gain commitment from different personalities
  • Challenge established methods when a better solution exists
  • Bring energy, urgency, and optimism into demanding situations
  • Balance strategic thinking with consistent field execution
  • Use data to identify problems without becoming stuck in analysis
  • Motivate people while maintaining clear standards and accountability
  • Stay composed and decisive when priorities or conditions change
  • Want to build a team, operation, and leadership legacy
  • Prefer being close to the work instead of managing entirely from behind a desk
  • Build credibility with installers, electricians, technicians, project managers, and leadership
  • Develop a working understanding of Dynamic EcoHome’s products, installation processes, and performance standards
  • Establish baseline measurements for safety, quality, productivity, labor utilization, scheduling, and installation cycle time
  • Identify the operational constraints having the greatest effect on Houston’s performance
  • Establish consistent communication, job-site management, and performance-review routines
  • Address urgent field issues with sound judgment and decisive leadership
  • Implement initial improvements that create visible and measurable progress
  • Identify high-potential employees and create a plan for developing future field leaders
  • Present a clear operational vision and a practical plan for scaling the Houston market
  • Demonstrate the ability to turn engineering analysis and strategic ideas into consistent field execution

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30, PMP, CM-Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or a comparable certification
  • Familiarity with lean operations, process improvement, continuous improvement, or quality management
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, job-site safety, and building regulations
  • Familiarity with solar mounting, racking, panels, inverters, electrical systems, or mechanical integration
  • Experience using operational data to improve labor utilization, quality, schedules, cost, or throughput
  • Leadership experience in a competitive team environment, including athletics or military service
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Houston market

Responsibilities

  • Set and communicate a clear, ambitious direction for Houston field operations
  • Lead daily construction and installation activities throughout the Houston market
  • Motivate and develop installers, technicians, electricians, and other field personnel
  • Build a culture centered on urgency, ownership, discipline, safety, and measurable results
  • Analyze the operation as a complete system and identify the constraints limiting performance
  • Redesign inefficient workflows using practical, data-informed solutions
  • Standardize field procedures so quality and safety remain consistent as volume grows
  • Optimize labor, materials, schedules, equipment, and job-site sequencing
  • Establish measurable performance targets and hold teams accountable for achieving them
  • Conduct job-site visits and inspections to evaluate safety, workmanship, productivity, and compliance
  • Track labor costs, installation cycle time, quality trends, schedules, budgets, and team performance
  • Anticipate operational problems and take action before they affect customers or project timelines
  • Investigate recurring field issues and lead root-cause analysis and corrective action
  • Coach high-potential employees and build a pipeline of future field leaders
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements, building regulations, company procedures, and job-site safety standards
  • Coordinate closely with customers, subcontractors, project managers, engineering teams, and internal departments
