About The Position

NextEra Energy Transmission Southwest (NEET SW) is seeking an experienced High Voltage Lead Technician to support the field operation group. NEET SW is a transmission service provider that owns and operates approximately 135 miles of 345 kV transmission infrastructure across Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Employees in this role provide direct support for operations and maintenance activities related to high voltage transmission lines and substations assets. This role involves executing, tracking, and reporting maintenance and project progress, supporting the compliance group, and ensuring adherence to construction specifications, operating standards, and procedures. The ideal candidate will travel as needed within the NEET SW system, with the main office located in Fort Scott, Kansas. Occasional travel to support other NEET business units may also be required.

Requirements

  • High School Grad / GED
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Responsibilities

  • Executes the daily task assignments and decision-making relevant to those specific tasks of self and direct reports
  • Works independently in leading the decisions and execution of daily tasks of self and direct reports with appropriate supervision
  • Plans, assigns and executes assignments with appropriate oversite by HV Manager
  • Performs and completes assigned Maximo Work tasks with cross-functional assets, resources, and supervision
  • Leads in quality initiatives while learning and utilizing NEE quality tools
  • Provides technical assistance and training to direct reports and lower-level technicians in their assignments and in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Participates in collaborative teams with minimal supervision
  • Maintains adherence to NEE Safety Culture, policies, and processes while meeting all safety targets
  • Maintains compliance and non-compliance maintenance schedules under minimum supervision to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, and market requirements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
