About The Position

Advocate Construction is seeking collaborative, energetic team players for a part-time Field Operations Assistant role. This position is ideal for individuals with 1-2 years of work experience who are eager to learn the construction industry. The role involves managing materials, permits, and job site safety, acting as a crucial link for daily operations. The company provides comprehensive training, tools, and benefits. As a Field Operations Assistant, you will be the driving force behind smooth daily project execution, collaborating with various teams and gaining hands-on experience. This part-time role averages 20-25 hours per week and includes benefits. Your primary focus will be independent time management to fulfill service requests both in the field and office.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening and criminal background check.
  • Physical stamina to safely lift, carry, and maneuver construction materials weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Willingness to work actively outdoors in various seasonal weather conditions.
  • A "get the job done" mentality, including willingness to work occasional non-traditional hours (evenings or weekends) when needed.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to company training events or assist at other regional offices.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of steady work experience in a hands-on, mobile, or logistics-based role (e.g., delivery driving, warehouse operations, property maintenance, landscaping, or field customer service).
  • Comfortable using mobile apps, basic software, or internal ticketing systems to track daily tasks and manage a schedule.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Proven history of good attendance, independent time management, and working safely with minimal direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing the internal ticketing system to track, prioritize, and complete daily service requests.
  • Preparing and maintaining company fleet trucks for daily operations.
  • Driving company vehicles to active job sites to deliver materials, drop off permits, and capture project progress photos.
  • Collecting unused materials from completed jobs and securely processing returns.
  • Picking up materials from vendors.
  • Conducting pre- and final post-project sweeps, including running magnetic sweepers to clear nails and debris, to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Acting as a professional representative of the company when interacting with homeowners.
  • Securely picking up final payments.
