About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a Part-Time Server for University Senior Living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The role involves creating a welcoming and engaging dining experience for residents. Key aspects include being a 'Host with the Most' by greeting residents, mingling, and fostering connections; a 'Peppy Prepper' by setting tables and preparing food items; a 'Titan of Tidiness' by maintaining a clean dining environment; and an 'Appetite Anthropologist' by observing and reporting residents' dietary habits and attendance. Arrow Senior Living manages 34 senior living communities across 6 states, employing nearly 2,200 individuals, and emphasizes internal promotion and a home-like environment for both residents and team members.

Requirements

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
• Can read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency with residents
• Possess a positive and energetic attitude
• Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
• Ability to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting persons after a fall
• Must be criminally cleared

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and make them feel welcome
• Be present in the dining room, mingle, entertain, and foster an environment where residents can connect
• Prep tables for service
• Prep salads for the next meal
• Roll silverware
• Buss tables
• Sweep floors
• Communicate with supervisors and Wellness when poor dietary habits or unusual changes in appetite are observed
• Communicate when residents are absent from meals
