About The Position

WRS has an immediate opening for a Field Observation Specialist - QA/QC Oversight (Solar Construction). This role has 2 Phases with different locations. Phase 1 (now through Thanksgiving): Battle Butte Solar - Columbus, Montana. Phase 2 (Thanksgiving through mid-March): Appaloosa Solar - Pomeroy, Washington, supporting QA/QC during the Montana site's seasonal winter shutdown. Requirements

Prior experience in construction observation, QA/QC, or field engineering – solar or heavy-civil project experience preferred
Working knowledge of civil, pile driving, mechanical, and underground electrical installation practices, including compaction and concrete testing standards
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, contractors, and multiple levels of management
Willingness to relocate/travel between the Columbus, MT and Pomeroy, WA project sites per the schedule above
Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day field oversight and documentation of civil construction, pile driving, mechanical installation, and underground wire installation to confirm the work conforms to project plans and specifications
Oversee compaction testing and concrete testing and placement activities, coordinating with third-party testing agencies as needed
Read and interpret civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering plans and drawings
Communicate and coordinate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and project management to identify issues early and help keep the project moving forward smoothly
Prepare clear, accurate daily observation reports and QA/QC documentation, and promptly flag non-conformances or schedule risks
Transition to the Appaloosa Solar project (Pomeroy, WA) to support QA/QC functions during the Montana site’s seasonal shutdown
