About The Position

A Field Mechanic will repair vehicles, equipment, and machinery by performing the following duties.

Requirements

• Certificate from college or technical school; or twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Good driving record is required.
• May require certification for certain types of equipment repairs.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Must be prepared to travel.
• Crawls under or climbs in or on vehicles or equipment for maintenance and repair inspections.
• Repairs, removes, and replaces moving parts and other components of vehicles, equipment or machinery.
• Disassembles, repairs, removes, and replaces parts of engines, transmissions, drive assemblies, brakes, and clutches of vehicles, equipment or machinery.
• Tunes, adjusts, and regulates equipment engines, valves, pumps, carburetors and other mechanical components with variable setting.
• Lubricates and services vehicles, equipment or machinery and maintains accurate records of such service.
• Requests repair parts and lubrication supplies as needed.
• Helps workers of other crafts when not engaged in lubrication, service, maintenance and repair work.
• All other duties as assigned
