About The Position

The Field Mechanic position works at various locations and may be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands. This role is responsible for managing the deployment of equipment across regions, cities, and states, overseeing 70-100 pieces of equipment per region. The position requires knowledge of equipment mechanics ranging from large equipment like cranes to small equipment like chainsaws. Field Mechanics must work safely while performing repairs or maintenance on job sites in various weather conditions, including troubleshooting equipment repair, maintenance, and deployment in different localities. A significant aspect of the role involves working around energized high voltage systems, requiring skill and care to ensure safety. The position also involves maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order, and performing other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Requires 1-5 years experience.
  • Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
  • Experience or schooling in mechanics.
  • Must have or be able to obtain CDL license within the 60 days of employment.
  • Must have own general tools.
  • Must be able to learn or perform work in Hydraulics.
  • Must be able to learn or perform work in Diesel/gas engine – automatic.
  • Must be able to learn or perform work in Chassis and suspension.
  • Must be able to learn or perform work in Welding/metal fabrication.
  • Must be able to learn or perform work in Small tool repair.
  • Must know or be able to learn how to use computers for Diagnostics.
  • Must know or be able to learn how to use computers for Equipment Inventory management.
  • Must know or be able to learn how to use computers for Work Orders.
  • Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
  • Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.
  • Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.

  • Certifications or Experiences in ASE certification a plus.
  • Certifications or Experiences in Ford or international certifications a plus.
  • Certifications or Experiences in Altec/Telelect a plus.
  • Certifications or Experiences in Hydraulic maintenance a plus.
  • Certifications or Experiences in Utility or construction jobs a plus.
  • Understands equipment set up and grounding.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for 70 – 100 pieces of equipment per region.
  • Manage Deployment of Equipment across regions, cities and states.
  • Knowledge of equipment mechanics ranging from as large as a crane to as small as a chain saw.
  • Work safely while performing repairs or maintenance on a job site in various weather conditions.
  • Troubleshooting in various localities regarding equipment repair, maintenance and deployment.
  • Frequently work around energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others while performing job.
  • Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
  • Does all other related work as required to complete the job.
