The Field Mechanic position works at various locations and requires experience in engine diagnostics, chassis, and hydraulic systems. Travel to another state may be required depending on customer demands. Requirements

  • Requires 2 years of experience in heavy on road/off road equipment repair.
  • Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a class A CDL permit/license within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Must have own basic tools required to perform equipment repairs.
  • Must be able to perform work in most if not all the following areas: Hydraulics, Diesel/Gas Engines, Steering Systems, Drive Train, HVAC, Welding/Metal Fabrication, Air/Hydraulic Brake Systems, Electrical Systems.
  • Must know or be able to learn how to use computers for: Diagnostics, Parts Inventory Management, Work Orders, Telematics.
  • Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
  • Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.
  • Able to lift more than 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.
  • Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy on road/off road equipment used to service the utility industry.
  • Work safely while performing repairs or maintenance on a job site in various weather conditions.
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose equipment breakdowns in a timely safe manner and repair as needed.
  • Must be able to learn and understand safe work practices for equipment set up and grounding procedures for equipment repairs that may be near energized systems.
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
  • Does all other related work as required to complete the job.
