About The Position

Finning Canada is seeking experienced Gas Compression Technicians, specifically Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics, to support their customers in and around Fort Nelson. This role operates on a 14x14 shift rotation and involves the repair, maintenance, and overhauling of natural gas and diesel engines, compressors, generators, and attachments in the field. The company is looking for individuals who can immediately contribute, as limited training is available. Requirements

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
Demonstrated experience with all makes of Gas Compression equipment (G3600 A4 an asset)
Dedication to safety
Solid organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work independently, without supervision often in remote locations.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

Nice To Haves

Journeyperson Certification in Millwright, Mechanic, Electrician, and Automotive may also be considered
Experience with commissioning is considered an asset
Gas Compression and Well Servicing experience is an asset
Non-Caterpillar experience such as Waukesha, Ariel, Cummins,, etc is recognized as an asset.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, overhaul and repair equipment related to Natural Gas Compression & Energy Power Generation: natural gas & diesel engines, compressors, generators and attachments
Maintain Finnings’ Customer Service Commitments, interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
Various related duties as required
