We are seeking skilled, self-motivated Maintenance Technicians who take pride in problem-solving, preventative maintenance, and ensuring critical network infrastructure operates at peak performance. The Field Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the performance of WeLink's fixed wireless network infrastructure. This role combines preventative maintenance, technical diagnostics, and field-based repair work to ensure network reliability and customer satisfaction. As a frontline technical expert you are responsible for protecting the health of our wireless network through diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, verifying system performance, and helping ensure customers remain connected. This position requires strong technical aptitude, independent decision-making, and a commitment to quality workmanship and documentation.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and access rooftops when required.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of networking, wireless communications, or telecommunications equipment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Experience in telecommunications, wireless internet, networking, or field service.
  • Familiarity with routers, switches, wireless radios, and power systems.
  • Knowledge of RF fundamentals and wireless network troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA, tower, rooftop, or fall protection training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on wireless network infrastructure.
  • Inspect mounting systems, grounding systems, power equipment, and cabling.
  • Replace weathered or damaged components as needed.
  • Perform battery health checks and preventative equipment servicing.
  • Apply approved firmware and software updates to network equipment.
  • Verify site documentation and equipment records are accurate.
  • Diagnose and resolve network, power, and equipment-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot routers, radios, power systems, UPS units, PoE equipment, and network cabling.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools including multimeters, cable testers, and network testing equipment.
  • Perform radio alignment and signal optimization activities.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and site conditions.
  • Capture and upload site photographs and inspection records.
  • Maintain accurate work order notes and service documentation.
  • Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards.
