About The Position

The Farm Field Mechanic plays a crucial role in repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining farm equipment with a high level of autonomy. They collaborate with equipment operators to address malfunctions and take ownership of the repair process in the field. This position demands a high level of expertise in diagnosing and repairing tractors and heavy machinery.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards required (must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Requirement, MVR, check)
• 2 years of maintenance experience on farm equipment required
• Welding and fabrication skills that include experience doing field repairs.
• Hands on experience with repairing electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Strong verbal and communication skills needed.

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of maintenance experience on farm equipment preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds farm equipment and other equipment used in field operations.
• Effectively handles multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizes tasks.
• Communicates with field supervisor and maintenance shop regarding downtime and parts needed.
• Steps in to provide direction when field supervisor is unavailable.
• Reports any unsafe behavior or injuries to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Be prepared to respond to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions promptly.
• Work with a GPS system to make necessary adjustments and ensure precise navigation and operation of farm equipment.
• Maintains accurate equipment records.
• Collaborate with the team and lead by example, sharing knowledge and skills to promote a positive working environment.
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Actively participate and comply with Company safety policies, practices, and procedures.
