Requirements

  • References, Background Check, MVR Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Driver’s License.
  • License: Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions or by the company.
  • Education: High School Graduate or GED.
  • Experience using surveying equipment.
  • Ability to work out of town for multiple nights each week.
  • Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Handbook.
  • Operate company truck with manual and automatic transmission.
  • Read and interpret maps, manuals, work site directions, and written instructions.
  • Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Tolerant to prolonged standing and movement on foot.
  • Climb ladders (all types).
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of onsite project conditions and existing surveys in place.
  • Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
  • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other points on jobsites.
  • Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.
  • Adjust and maintain surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracy.
  • Establish fixed points on projects to be used for layouts.
  • Train other Trimble equipment user throughout the company for remote projects.
  • Develop existing surveying process and procedures.
  • Support company Safety & Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
