Field Investigator
About The Position
Advantage Investigations is seeking a full-time Private Investigator in Poughkeepsie, New York, and surrounding areas. The investigator conducts covert surveillance and claims investigations, observes and documents claimants’ daily activities, obtains video evidence, and provides clear written reports to the operations team. The position includes comprehensive training and requires daily travel within the investigator’s assigned area or territory, including travel throughout the home state and surrounding states. Investigators conduct covert, stationary, and mobile surveillance; record subject activity; perform basic claims investigations and specified field tasks; and upload video evidence and surveillance reports. Pay is door-to-door at an hourly rate commensurate with experience, between $23.00 and $27.00. Employees are paid biweekly. The company provides equipment, a fuel card, vehicle and phone allowances, and other listed benefits.
Requirements
- Private Investigator licenses are required; licensing requirements differ between states.
- Meet state-mandated requirements to obtain and maintain a Private Investigator license in multiple states.
- Have a valid driver’s license and be able to provide an MVR (driving record).
- Have access to a reliable, suitable surveillance vehicle for day-to-day use.
- Be willing to travel throughout the home state and surrounding states for work.
- Be available for a varying weekly work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Have good oral and written communication skills.
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Pass a drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Current New York Private Investigator license preferred.
- Previous experience related to surveillance or claims investigations preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct covert, stationary, and mobile surveillance.
- Conduct surveillance throughout the home state and surrounding states.
- Record subject activity using a video recording device.
- Conduct alive-and-well checks, locates, basic scene investigations, paint sample analysis, EDR, and RCS deployments and retrievals.
- Prepare and complete written reports of observations.
- Upload video evidence and surveillance reports.
- Travel daily within the assigned area or territory.
