The Field Installer's main function is to assemble dock product and install boat lifts. This is an at-will employee, full-time, non-exempt position with supervision by the Field Service Manager. Successful candidates must pass a criminal background check and meet the requirements of the full job description throughout their employment, following all policies in the employee handbook. The role involves significant out-of-town travel, estimated at 75%-100% of work time. Experience in a production environment is helpful. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, though equivalent experience, education, and training may be considered. Incumbents operating a motor vehicle on company business must possess a current Motor Vehicle Operator's License and maintain proper personal insurance coverage. The job also requires forklift certification and the ability to operate trucks, trailers, and barges. While there is no direct supervisory responsibility for other employees, a strong teamwork environment is crucial for company effectiveness. The role demands strong math and problem-solving skills, the ability to address situations intuitively and accurately, a continuous learning style, and the capacity to present a professional image. Effective communication with vendors, employees, and other contacts is essential, as is the ability to embrace differences. The employee must be able to perform essential functions without posing a direct threat to others' health and safety and must be able to clearly speak, read, and write in English. Knowledge of materials used on job sites and the ability to identify quality issues or defects are also required. The physical demands of the job include specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, focus adjustment, 20/20 vision with or without correction), good hearing for communication, the ability to stand for extended periods, move about production floors, stoop or kneel, lift/pull/push/sort/carry up to 75 lbs or more, and grasp/use construction equipment and power tools. The work environment involves driving on various routes and construction work on docks and marinas, typically between 8 AM and 5 PM, with a moderately high noise level due to power tool operation.
