About The Position

Kleinfelder's Houston, Texas office is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer. This role involves performing routine to complex geotechnical sampling, inspection, and testing in the field, adhering to project plans and specifications. The engineer will prepare daily reports and data sheets, and may assist with laboratory testing, nuclear moisture density testing, proposal writing, and technical reports. The position requires strong initiative, the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and excellent communication skills. The candidate must be willing to travel across Texas and other states as project needs arise.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology
EIT or GIT or ability to obtain within 6 months.
0 to 3 years' experience in the provision of geotechnical-related engineering field
Must have valid TX Driver's License
Must be willing to travel across Texas and other states as project needs.
Working well in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment is a must.
Strong communication skills are necessary to succeed in this role.

Nice To Haves

Geotechnical laboratory testing experience is a plus.

Ability to read and review test procedures, standards, plans, and specifications.
This position may require occasional travel and/or night work.

Responsibilities

Perform soil and groundwater sampling, soil samples, logging, observations, and testing on materials testing projects to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
Submit daily field reports and data reports summarizing daily activities.
Conduct engineering calculations under the supervision of a professional engineer.
Maintain objectives, initiatives, and overall goals set forth by the project manager.
Willingness to travel.
