About The Position

The Field Food Service Specialist will supervise training and educate store teams on current and new product offerings, with an emphasis on Food Safety and Quality Assurance to ensure FSQA and HACCP regulatory requirements are met. This role supervises new store start-ups and remodels for Foodservice, addresses issues in stores in real-time, and provides immediate solutions during each visit. The specialist is responsible for visiting assigned stores on a set schedule to provide food safe-quality assurance monitoring functions and conducts trouble-shooting seminars to instruct stores on how to fix equipment and process issues. This position acts as a central contact person for stores regarding food service categories, with discretionary decision-making power to solve issues as they arise. The role collaborates with Category Managers, BU leadership, store leadership, Food Service vendors, and merchant experts to ensure training materials are effective, current, relevant, and compatible with Company policies and standards to maximize the growth of the Foodservice category. The specialist will coach and monitor under-performing stores for improvement, partner with District Managers for their specific opportunities and needs, and oversee new food service projects based on BU initiatives. A database of all training sessions and visits will be maintained, and training sessions will be developed and facilitated to address training gaps and needs of markets or regions. The goal is to create a training environment that empowers people to find answers and solutions independently to grow their food business, fostering a cooperative learning environment with multiple levels of feedback that guide people to correct actions and embrace/share best practices. The specialist leads training opportunities as needed and works closely with store management staff, sales associates, and district managers within Operations, along with other internal departments related to the food service category. Assistance with training and new store start-ups/remodels is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Supervise new store start-ups and remodels for Foodservice.
  • Address issues in stores in real-time and provide immediate and adequate solutions.
  • Visit assigned stores on a set schedule to provide food safe-quality assurance monitoring functions.
  • Conduct trouble-shooting seminars to instruct stores on how to fix equipment and process issues.
  • Act as a central contact person for stores for questions regarding food service categories.

  • Work closely with stores Management staff, Sales Associates and District Managers within Operations along with other internal departments as it relates to food service category.

  • Aid with new store start-ups and remodels.
  • Review all food and beverage equipment, including warmers, roller grills, microwaves, sandwich cases, condiment stations, beverage machines, bakery cases, coolers, etc.
  • Monitor temperature and time to Circle K standards.
  • Notify appropriate person if something is found out of compliance.
  • Assess the cleanliness of all areas of the store including food preparation areas, sinks, restrooms, security areas, storage areas, garbage and sanitation areas, etc.
  • Evaluate stocking and inventory supply of key food safety areas.
  • Review store health requirements to ensure they are being met; address all critical violations immediately.
  • Assist with addressing any issues found and help handle necessary improvements to each store.
  • Complete detailed itemized reports summarizing the condition of all elements of the store.
  • Compile an overall score for each store and communicate results to the management staff.
  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assist stores with reminders and resets.
  • Calibrate various dispensing machines per schedule.
  • Review signage and promotional material.
  • Supervise special projects or other duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
