About The Position

Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman, Ok is currently hiring for Food Service staff. This is a full-time, shift position with 8-hour shifts. Both Saturdays and Sundays are REQUIRED for this position. This position is non-exempt. The agency requires coverage 24 hours, 7 days per week. Work hours and location may vary depending on business necessity. Employees may be required to work weekends and overtime. Reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities may be provided upon request.

Requirements

  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Ability to accommodate dietary modifications (e.g., special diets for medical or health conditions).
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple food preparation and serving tasks efficiently.
  • Level I: No experience required.
  • Level II: one year of experience in a commercial or institutional food service or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of vocational or technical school training in food preparation for the required experience.
  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of lifting/carrying 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently and able to push and pull a maximum force of 50 pounds.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Handling, preparing, cooking, and serving food.
  • Catering to regular, modified, and special dietary needs.
  • Ensuring all work, preparation, and serving areas are kept clean and sanitary.
