About The Position

Student placements are coordinated with the University and School District to be placed in a classroom setting to observe and experience teaching. These placements are for students in the School of Education who are working towards a Colorado Teacher License. Students are placed in certification appropriate levels/grades, including Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary, and K-12th certification. Secondary education placements are content specific, and Special Education placements are within the spectrum needs for special education.

Requirements

  • Be a student in the School of Education working towards a Colorado Teacher License
  • Submit fingerprints to the School of Education for a background check through the CBI and FBI
  • Have fingerprints on file with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation
  • Complete admission requirements
  • Apply online to become a Student Teacher with Aurora Public Schools
  • Complete the Teacher Insight Assessment
  • Complete a district background check
