About The Position

The Field Technician provides customer service while performing mechanical repairs and service on equipment for internal and external customers. The role primarily travels to customer sites, represents Southwest ToyotaLift, and ensures equipment is serviced to company standards. The position is based at the Mira Loma Headquarters in Mira Loma, California, and is full-time, with an hourly salary range of $34.00–$39.00.

Requirements

High school graduate.
Three to five years of forklift or material-handling technician experience.
Excellent driving record, as shown on a current DMV report.
Ability to drive a company vehicle to customer sites.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Customer-service attitude and aptitude.
Ability to repetitively stoop, bend, push, pull, squat, climb, and kneel.
Ability to operate power machinery and use hand tools, air-compressor tools, a band saw, department grinder, steam cleaner, and parts-washer machines.
Ability to lift 50 pounds unaided.
Physical ability to operate and drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

Communicate professionally with customers in-house and in the field, and build strong relationships.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and write clear job recommendations and descriptions.
Demonstrate knowledge of parts and determine whether they need repair or replacement.
Repair gasoline-, LPG-, electric-, or diesel-powered forklifts.
Perform repairs such as replacing worn or broken parts, adjusting brakes, tightening body bolts, and aligning wheels.
Lubricate vehicles and perform other maintenance and operational duties as required.
Perform manual labor, including heavy lifting and operating power equipment.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and escalate issues as needed.
Complete work-order paperwork accurately and promptly to support processing and billing.
Keep the company van clean and report vehicle problems to a supervisor.
Practice safe work habits.
Attend technical classes when offered by management.
