Heavy Equipment Field Technician
About The Position
West Side Tractor Sales is hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician for its Service department. The role involves servicing John Deere construction equipment at customer locations, performing complex repairs and diagnostic tests, and helping return machines to working condition. The technician builds customer relationships by clearly explaining equipment issues and solutions, may occasionally promote dealer service programs, and keeps required documentation current. The position also involves maintaining the service vehicle, tools, and inventory, and following safety protocols. The role offers hands-on exposure to current John Deere technology and industry trends.
Requirements
- Technical school certificate or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of heavy equipment technician experience.
- Strong understanding of equipment operations and mechanical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various issues.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership of work.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry, navigation, and internet usage.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Nice To Haves
- A CDL may be required for some positions.
