About The Position

This is a remote position with significant travel requirements, approximately 30%-40% local site visits and 30%-40% on-the-road site visits, with 10%-20% office time, covering the eastern US. The role requires a dedicated and initiative-taking individual with mechanical aptitude, responsible for seeing commercial refrigeration projects to completion. This opportunity is with a successful company in the supermarket refrigeration industry, offering potential for advancement. The position is part of the Regional Accounts group, focusing on customer-centric, solution-driven approaches, working with major supermarket chains. Training will be provided by an experienced Field Equipment Representative (FER), including critical processes, procedures, and technical aspects of supermarket refrigeration equipment, conducted both in-office and on job sites. The role involves resolving quality-related issues to drive customer satisfaction. An evaluation period will assess prior experience, technical aptitude, and development potential. The Field Equipment Specialist is responsible for equipment organization and management for assigned customers, verifying field equipment quality, and taking corrective actions to ensure high customer satisfaction. This individual will manage concurrent projects, collaborating with various internal departments and external organizations to meet project objectives and deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • 4 years of customer focus experience.
  • Possess aptitude to comprehend mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Capacity to develop positive relationships with contractors and customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and persuasion skills, both verbal and written.
  • Solution-driven.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with electrical or refrigeration background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate fit, finish, and field quality issues for Hussmann products and submit field reports through a customer relationship management online-based program.
  • Order parts to resolve equipment warranty and quality issues.
  • Manage all technical issues for delivered equipment to gain a positive resolution for the customer, leveraging subject matter experts from other parts of the organization.
  • Partner with the Regional Account Field Equipment Team to assess situations and prioritize jobs.
  • Communicate with customer representatives, contractors, and the Regional Accounts sales organization on the status of all equipment issues, both positive and negative.
  • Communicate issues and provide feedback to sales and engineering departments as required.
