About The Position

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking a detail-oriented, part-time Field Enumerator to support their organization. This role involves collecting agricultural data on behalf of the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). The position requires interviewing farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses, potentially traveling to fields for crop counts, and maintaining detailed records. The work is conducted from a home office with an operable telephone, and requires a reliable personal vehicle for travel. Requirements

• Experience multitasking in an energetic, deadline-oriented work environment.
• Ability to make crop counts in designated fields.
• Ability to maintain a reliable personal vehicle.
• Ability to conduct interviews in person or by telephone with farm operators and other individuals.
• Knowledge about computers or iPads.

Responsibilities

• Interview farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses either in person or on the phone.
• Travel to designated fields to perform crop counts.
• Maintain and deliver detailed and legible records of interviews, crop counts, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked.
• Conduct enumerator work from a residence with an operable telephone free from distractions.
• Positively represent NASDA and the benefits of enumerators in all survey actions.
