About The Position
The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking a detail-oriented, part-time Field Enumerator to support their organization. This role involves collecting agricultural data on behalf of the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). NASDA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to growing and enhancing American agriculture through policies, partnerships, and public engagement. The Field Enumerator plays a crucial role in providing reliable statistics and information to agricultural producers, farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. Requirements

- Ability to positively represent NASDA and the benefits of enumerators in all survey actions
- Ability to make crop counts in designated fields
- Ability to maintain a reliable personal vehicle
- Ability to conduct interviews in person or by telephone with farm operators and other individuals
- Knowledge about computers or iPads
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate good time management in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
- Interview farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses either in person or on the phone.
- Travel to designated fields to perform crop counts.
- Maintain and deliver detailed and legible records of interviews, crop counts, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked.
- Conduct enumerator work from a residence with an operable telephone free from distractions.
- Maintain a personal vehicle for travel to perform field enumerator duties.
