The Field Engineering Specialist role is a field-based position within the Rio Grande Valley, with the ideal candidate residing in or near McAllen, TX. This role requires approximately 50% travel and includes comprehensive onboarding and training at our corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking OR a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field plus 1-2 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking
  • Successfully training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy
  • Ability to travel, including some overnight travel, is required

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.
  • Ability to serve as an internal technical resource
  • Ability to provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays
  • Ability to maintain strong customer relationships

Responsibilities

  • Showcase expertise in technical repair for Roche assigned product lines.
  • Offer valuable service to laboratory customers in the assigned territory.
  • Provide routine technical support, on-site service, and repair of Roche products.
  • Serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures.
  • Document all activities.
  • Contribute to quality improvement.
  • Focus on maximizing customer satisfaction.
