About The Position

EBC is a leader in major infrastructure projects, including bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, and marine installations. We have a proven track record of meeting deadlines and budgets on large-scale projects such as the Samuel-De-Champlain Bridge, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM), and the Site C hydro-electric power station. Our team of experienced engineers, project managers, and specialists also contribute to wind farms and hydroelectric projects. This specific position is for our Ladore Project located in Campbell River, British Columbia. Candidates must be willing and able to report to the construction site. The Field Engineer will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that construction plans meet the guidelines and specifications outlined in the contract.

Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology or Industrial Engineering.
Related job experience of 1-3 years in construction field engineering on Infrastructure projects.
1-3 years of experience in project coordination, operations, scheduling, logistics, or field support roles, preferably within construction, infrastructure, industrial, or production environments.
Proficient at developing and managing work schedules and tracking progress.
Able to coordinate resources, materials, and operational activities.
Intermediate skills in written and oral English language.
Willingness to travel extensively.
Ability to climb, work at various heights and work outdoors in all weather.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across operational and technical teams.
High level of initiative, organization, and leadership in managing tasks, priorities, and workflows.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
Working knowledge of scheduling tools.
Knowledge of construction safety standards and certifications.

Responsibilities

Read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, contract documents and administrative project specifications to support both execution and planning activities.
Inspect work daily to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and construction tolerances.
Inform the Project Manager of project status, risks and developments, and collaborate with the Superintendent to review construction methods, sequencing and execution strategies.
Prepare, develop, and maintain detailed construction work schedules, including baseline schedules, short-term look ahead plans, and weekly work plans.
Actively monitor project progress to ensure alignment with timelines, resources, and field execution.
Track progress against planned schedules, identify deviations, and support corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
Order critical material with suppliers in collaboration with the Job Superintendent, ensuring alignment with scheduling priorities and site requirements.
Coordinate material deliveries and monitor inventory levels to ensure continuity of work and avoid delays.
Support efficient material flow and logistics planning on-site.
Perform quantity tracking and cost coding for purposes of productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting.
Monitor production outputs, labor performance, and installed quantities to support project controls and performance tracking.
Contribute to data collection for forecasting, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare daily reports related to the crew activities, construction progress, material usage, and site issues.
Assist in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts.
Organize and participate in various meetings.
Establish and keep necessary communications between suppliers, sub-contractors, professionals, and clients.
Assist in carrying out a variety of field duties at the job site related to the project.
Contribute to enhanced scheduling, planning, and operational practices through field insights and performance tracking.
