About The Position
MGC Contractors, Inc. is a 100% Employee Owned Corporation specializing in all forms of water and wastewater general contracting. They are looking for Field Engineers to join their Texas Division in the Austin area. This role involves a mix of office and construction site responsibilities, requiring strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor degree in Construction Management or related Program required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
- Effective Communication Skills both oral and written, and quick response time to inquiries.
- Passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen is required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior construction field experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- General Contract and Subcontract administration
- Construction scheduling
- Procurement and expediting of material and equipment
- Mechanical, electrical and piping systems coordination
- Project cost review, reporting, updating, and accounting
- Review of subcontractor applications for payment
- Participation in project meetings
- Supervision/coordination of subcontractors field installations
- Review/negotiate change proposal pricing from subcontractors and prepare change proposals for self-performed work
- Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with owners, vendors, subcontractors.
- Any and all other duties assigned.
