About The Position
Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer for its Water/Wastewater Division in the Treasure Coast region between Palm Bay and Port St. Lucie, Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing field tasks assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman.
Requirements
- Experience with surveying and layout.
- Technical writing skills.
- 1–2 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or another relevant field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Foreman with structure layout.
- Prepare field purchase orders.
- Perform engineering duties as assigned to assist with construction planning.
- Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
- Identify the need for Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Prepare, review, and process shop drawings.
- Maintain as-built drawings.
- Collect and assemble O&M material.
- Perform subcontract scope analysis.
- Assist with purchasing and expediting.
- Distribute documents.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
- Perform scheduling.
