Field Engineer

Luster National•Sacramento, CA
•$85,000 - $150,000

About The Position

Luster is building a talent pool of Field Engineers at various skill levels for future roles supporting large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure programs. Projects may include highways, roads, bridges, bus and rail transit, international airports, and water/wastewater infrastructure, delivered through traditional and alternative methods. These roles focus on observing and documenting construction work in the field, verifying that installed work conforms to approved documents, and maintaining timely records of quantities, testing, field conditions, and issues to support project decisions. This is a posting for future hiring needs, not a currently available specific opportunity. Selected candidates may be activated in the talent pool and notified first when a project need arises. The scope and complexity of work increase with experience level. Field Engineers may monitor construction, maintain project records, verify quantities and submittals, coordinate information requests, document testing and nonconforming work, assess progress against schedules, record changes and differing site conditions, support oversight in active or operating facilities, and assist with project close-out. The role requires a degree in a relevant engineering or construction discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with at least five years of relevant experience on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects. Compensation is listed as $85,000–$150,000 per year ($41–$72 per hour), with the actual offer dependent on factors including experience, skills, education, credentials, and geographic location. Luster describes its workplace as inclusive and provides accommodations during the application process upon request.
