About The Position

RK&K is seeking a self-motivated graduate to work as a Field Engineer I in its Virginia Beach, Virginia office. The position supports civil construction projects related to aviation, highways, roadways, bridges, and related facilities. The role involves coordinating construction projects that apply engineering principles and methods to consultation, investigation, evaluation, planning, and design across utilities, structures, equipment, processes, transportation systems, and work systems. It also includes communicating with internal teams and external clients, accurately logging work-site activities, and leading inspections of facilities and infrastructure. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related engineering field.
Zero to two years of experience in civil engineering or construction management.
Previous internship experience in construction management or civil engineering.
Practical application of engineering procedures in roadway design and construction, schedules, claims avoidance, claims mitigation, cost estimating, and reporting.
Ability to coordinate simultaneous tasks.
Ability to communicate technical information proficiently.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

EIT license or ability to obtain one within six months.
