About The Position

We are currently seeking a qualified Field Engineer, Civil Structural, Architectural (CSA) to join our mining team. This position supports the execution of large-scale mining and industrial projects, including material handling, processing facilities, and supporting infrastructure. Work may be performed at active construction sites in remote or industrial environments within Saskatchewan. While preference may be given to candidates located near project sites, relocation or LOA support may be available based on eligibility. Join us in this full time permanent role. The Field Engineer ensures construction execution aligns with design intent, scope of work, engineering drawings, and quality requirements while maintaining strict adherence to project safety standards. This is a hands-on role involving technical problem solving, contractor support, and field coordination to ensure efficient project delivery. The Civil, Structural & Architectural Field Engineer (CSA FE) supports field engineering activities for mining or industrial facilities. The CSA FE reports to the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer with a secondary reporting line to the Site Manager. The CSA FE provides technical direction to construction teams and supports a wide range of engineering and construction-related functions across multidisciplinary project scopes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration
  • Experience working with contractors and subcontractors on construction projects
  • Experience in heavy civil construction including earthworks, piling, concrete, and foundations
  • Experience in mining, industrial, or processing facility environments, including structural steel erection and building systems (cladding, roofing, and interiors)
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics, material properties, and concrete technologies
  • Understanding of environmental controls (erosion, water protection, wildlife considerations)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced site environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of engineering, construction, commissioning, and project controls workflows
  • Effective communication skills with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment

Responsibilities

  • Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs, escalating complex issues as required
  • Perform field inspections to verify construction quality and progress
  • Review and sign Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and attend critical inspections
  • Monitor contractor quality performance and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Support construction planning, sequencing, and advanced work packaging
  • Coordinate civil/structural interfaces with multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage field changes, including preparation and tracking of FCNs and FCRs
  • Conduct walkdowns, develop punch lists, and verify completion of deficiencies
  • Review contractor turnover packages and support permit close-out activities
  • Provide constructability input and field support to engineering and project teams
  • Promote and uphold site safety standards through active field engagement
  • Capture and apply lessons learned to improve project execution
