About The Position

This is an entry-level field engineer role working on diagnostic imaging equipment. The apprentice will work alongside experienced field engineers and modality leaders, receiving on-the-job training to develop into a multi-modality field engineer. The position calls for strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, initiative, and the ability to work independently as skills develop. Evening and weekend work may be needed, along with occasional domestic travel. The role also involves operating equipment and mechanical devices in a functional, effective, and safe manner, following departmental policies and procedures, and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
At least 2 years of post-high-school education focused on a technical degree.
Good communication and strong customer service skills.
Ability to operate a computer and job-specific software.
Detail-oriented, punctual, and able to exercise sound judgment and decision-making.
Clean driving record and access to a vehicle.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed and travel domestically occasionally.

Responsibilities

Assist and shadow field engineers as they diagnose problems and perform preventive maintenance (PMs).
Attend in-house training sessions with modality leaders.
Become competent at performing preventive maintenance independently during the first 60 days.
Learn new things proactively without constant supervision.
Demonstrate job-related skills appropriate to customer populations and departmental services while providing excellent customer service.
Operate equipment and mechanical devices to support a functional, effective, and safe environment.
Follow policies, procedures, and guidelines related to departmental operations.
