About The Position

Parsons is seeking a talented Field Electrical Engineer to join our team on the T5 Program, supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role provides infrastructure engineering support to construction/installation crews, involving field identification, validation of designs against actual conditions, conducting surveys and inspections, interpreting technical documents, and supporting installation, testing, and commissioning of systems. The position requires extensive CONUS travel (40-50%) and will be performed remotely when not traveling. This role is part of the Federal Solutions team, which delivers resources to US government customers for defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental missions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Four (4)+ years of relevant engineering experience in electrical engineering, electrical construction, electrical inspection, field engineering, facilities engineering, or infrastructure projects.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, specifications, equipment schedules, and technical documents.
Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, IEEE standards, and federal or project-specific requirements.
Ability to travel nationwide and work on active construction sites in varying field conditions.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass required background checks.
Strong communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Engineer-in-Training (EIT/FE) certification.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience supporting construction activities, field investigations, and resolution of field issues.
Experience interfacing directly with client and other stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic electronic documentation tools.
OSHA 30-hour safety training.
Prior experience on federal, transportation, aviation, or large infrastructure projects.
Experience with Bluebeam markup software.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in remote and field environments.
Experience in requirements development and specification writing.

Responsibilities

Provide infrastructure engineering support to construction/installation crews.
Field identification and planning of fixtures, equipment and system layouts.
Validate designs against actual field conditions and resolve discrepancies.
Conduct field surveys, inspections, and data collection to support design and construction.
Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents for field personnel.
Support installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of systems, fixtures and equipment.
Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, architectural), other contractors, and subcontractors.
Prepare/redline drawings, design calculations, quantities, and construction documentation.
Prepare site survey reports, field reports, maintain project records, and document as-built conditions.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and local codes.
Adhere to Parsons safety, quality, and documentation procedures.
Perform other engineering duties as assigned.
