About The Position

The Field Director leads ANASAZI Foundation’s field operations and direct-care personnel within its Outdoor Behavioral Health Care Program. This position oversees field safety, staffing, supervision, training, logistics, emergency preparedness, and consistent implementation of ANASAZI philosophy and field practices.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum two years of relevant field, outdoor-program, direct-care, behavioral health, youth-program, or comparable experience required.
Field leadership, supervisory, or staff-training experience required.
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving eligibility.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card as required.
Wilderness First Aid (WFA), Wilderness First Responder (WFR), EMT, or other advanced field/emergency medical certification as required for assigned responsibilities.
PCS Instructor Certification when assigned responsibility for providing PCS training.
Required ANASAZI field, safety, emergency-response, driver, and competency training.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in outdoor recreation, behavioral health, human services, education, leadership, recreation management, or related field preferred.
ANASAZI field experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct field operations, staffing, safety, logistics, communication, and daily field activities.
Supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate assigned field personnel.
Recruit and select field personnel in coordination with Human Resources.
Maintain staffing schedules and assignments sufficient for client safety, protective oversight, and program needs.
Ensure field personnel receive required orientation, training, supervision, and competency assessment.
Promote consistent implementation of ANASAZI philosophy, Guiding Principles, outdoor education, and approved field practices.
Monitor field conditions, including staffing, weather, terrain, water, transportation, equipment, supplies, and safety concerns.
Coordinate transportation, resupply, staff movement, communication equipment, emergency resources, and other field logistics.
Maintain effective communication between Field Operations, Clinical, Nursing, Admissions, and leadership.
Support implementation of treatment plans and clinical recommendations while maintaining appropriate role boundaries.
Regularly participate in field activities to supervise operations, train and mentor personnel, and support client and staff safety.
Maintain emergency readiness and participate in on-call leadership, crisis response, evacuation, elopement response, and other field emergencies.
Ensure significant client, staff, medical, behavioral, environmental, or safety concerns are promptly reported and addressed.
Review field documentation, incidents, safety concerns, and operational trends and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Participate in quality improvement, risk management, emergency preparedness, licensing, accreditation, and development of field policies and procedures.
Maintain client rights, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and mandatory-reporting requirements.
