Field Data Specialist - Travel position
About The Position
This is a 100% travel role where you will independently drive or fly to commercial properties to capture precise data using advanced technology. The position is ideal for self-directed individuals who enjoy focused, independent work and are comfortable working solo. You will be responsible for gathering and documenting various property details, including building measurements, utility locations, and interior/exterior features. While communication is minimal, you will need to proactively reach out to your Regional Manager and other team members when necessary. The role offers autonomy, routine, and adventure, with opportunities for professional development, including company-sponsored drone training and FAA Part 107 certification.
Requirements
- Experience in mapping, property appraisal, inspections, GIS, data collection, data entry, land surveying, or any outdoor, detail-oriented fieldwork.
- Comfortable on ladders (up to 30 feet).
- Appreciation for technology.
- Enjoy working solo.
- Ability to set up a lot of your daily schedule.
- Reliable vehicle capable of carrying a 6-foot ladder and long-distance travel.
- Use technology confidently (iPads, laptops, mobile apps, photography technology).
- Follow detailed instructions with accuracy and care.
- Stay focused, organized, and self-motivated while working alone.
- Experience in site surveys, inspections, CAD, or GIS mapping, and data entry.
- Experience in construction, HVAC, electrical, or similar hands-on fields.
- Experience in land surveying, utility locating, archaeology, drone photography, or other remote fieldwork.

Responsibilities
- Independently drive or fly to commercial properties to capture precise data.
- Use 3D cameras, laser measurement tools, and specialized software to document building measurements, sprinkler and HVAC locations, windows, signage, landscaping, utility meters, dumpsters, and parking details.
- Document interior and exterior features requiring accurate documentation.
- Gather data and take measurements.
- Input data while ensuring accuracy.
- Communicate with property managers to gather access information for appointments and arrival times.
- Proactively reach out to your Regional Manager.
- Ask questions to trainers, mentors, and peers.
- Travel out of state Monday–Friday.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Climb ladders up to 30 feet.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Use technology confidently (iPads, laptops, mobile apps, photography technology).
- Follow detailed instructions with accuracy and care.
- Stay focused, organized, and self-motivated while working alone.
