Field Crew Chief - Builder Services
About The Position
Exacta Land Surveyors is a leading provider of residential and commercial land surveying services across multiple states. We specialize in various survey types, including residential, commercial, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys, ensuring accurate and timely delivery for real estate transactions. This role specifically focuses on supporting builder services, utilizing advanced surveying equipment to determine elevations and property boundaries for title surveys and elevation certificates. The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED diploma required.
- Two years job-related experience in the surveying industry desired.
- Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets our insurance requirements.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and perform these operations using units of weight, volume, and distance.
- Understanding of algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
- Able to operate instruments required for survey data collection (total station, data collector, GPS).
- Proficient in the independent application and use of job-related software/e-technology/cloud-based solutions.
Nice To Haves
- Cad drafting experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties as assigned by Field Manager to complete projects accurately and timely.
- Download and upload survey data to the appropriate files on the computer network or field data collector.
- Mark points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying marks.
- Cut and clear brush and trees from the line of survey.
- Maintain the quality of field data and perform simple, accurate calculations as needed.
- Responsible for equipment and vehicle maintenance, ensuring the vehicle is properly equipped each morning and returning equipment/supplies at the end of the shift.
- Adhere fully to Exacta’s policies, procedures, and work directives.
- Resolve internal/external customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, clients, and other parties.
- Perform all duties as assigned to meet business needs in a safe, ethical, and professional manner.
