About The Position

The Field Controller is responsible for fulfilling the duties of the Director of Finance/Controller when assigned to a hotel (or hotels). In other cases, they may be stationed at a property to conduct training of various staff members, or to facilitate work around a special project or property transition. The Field Controller will report to the Senior Manager Accounting Transitions & Support.

Requirements

Degree from a four-year college preferred, preferably with a concentration in accounting.
Five years of prior related experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, payroll, double-entry accounting (debits and credits), accruals, financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, 1 ownership reporting, forecasting/budgeting, critical accounting systems, and hotel internal control processes.
Experience training entry-level team members with different skill sets and levels of experience, and as well as new hires.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the Universal System of Accountings Lodging Industry (USALI).
This is a high-volume travel role. The team member must be prepared to travel as needed (usually on a weekly basis), with travel arranged so that it allows sufficient time to complete the assignment.
