This role coordinates activities for natural gas system projects, ensuring they are completed safely, cost-effectively, and on time. The coordinator serves as a key liaison between internal resources, external contractors, government agencies, and vendors, while also maintaining knowledge of current construction techniques, materials, standards, and regulations. Responsibilities include managing project status, reviewing invoices, responding to emergencies, and maintaining accurate records. The position may require stand-by duty, working shifts, holidays, weekends, and occasional extensive hours. It also involves identifying and addressing safety and encroachment issues, ensuring the safe operation of company vehicles and equipment, and adhering to company values and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years natural gas construction and maintenance, and/or pipeline operations field experience.
  • Must have obtained Sr Level status in construction maintenance or pipeline operations.
  • Must have and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training for position.
  • Must obtain and maintain any other required OQs and classroom training or certifications within six months.
  • Must have and maintain a Competent Person certificate.
  • Requires a valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.
  • Requires working knowledge of various software applications for data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with internal/external customers to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information.
  • Ability to lift and carry 53 pounds from the ground to 52 inches.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • Ability to walk a distance of 500 feet.
  • Ability to climb a 19-inch step.
  • Requires the acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of smell.
  • Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
  • Must be able to lift tools, equipment and materials up to and including 60 pounds.
  • Work requires entry to customer premises.
  • Works indoors in an office environment and outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to extremes of climate and temperatures, high noise levels, rough terrain, and occasional work on ladders, roofs, attics, and under houses as well as confined spaces.
  • Works as an individual contributor and/or as member of a team.
  • As a Safety-Sensitive position, pre and post employment screenings, including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates activities to accomplish assigned natural gas system projects requiring the use of internal resources and external contractors.
  • Monitors and assures projects are completed in a safe, cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Serves as internal and external customer contact during the construction phase of new or existing natural gas system projects.
  • Monitors project status and acts as liaison between Company resources, contractors, government agencies and vendors to assure success of projects.
  • Reviews materials utilization and process related invoices for accuracy.
  • Maintains and applies knowledge of current construction techniques, materials, standards and regulations required for the installation of natural gas pipelines and related facilities.
  • Performs activities to assure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies.
  • Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
  • May be required to hold stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call outs, and occasional extensive hours.
  • Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues to their resolution and completion.
  • Is responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.

  • Must become familiar with the contents of the Safety Manual, live by the spirit of its intent and become involved in creating and maintaining a safe working environment. Must complete all required safety training.
