About The Position

We are seeking a highly capable and execution-focused Manager of Field Communications to join the Store Operations team at Advance Auto Parts. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure clear, consistent, and actionable communication between cross functional stakeholders and our geographically dispersed field and store teams. This role supports the effective execution of operational priorities by translating strategy, initiatives, and changes into field-ready messaging that drives alignment, consistency, and performance at scale. This position works closely with Store Operations leadership, Field Leadership, and cross-functional partners to support operational rollouts, pilots, and ongoing initiatives. The Manager of Field Communications plays a critical role in bridging strategy and execution—ensuring store teams understand not only what is changing, but why it matters and how to execute effectively. This is a highly collaborative role with enterprise-wide visibility and direct impact on store execution and team engagement. A successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment and excels at organizing complex or fast-moving information into clear, concise, and practical communications. They demonstrate strong judgment, attention to detail, and an operator mindset. This individual is a self-starter who can manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, respond effectively to time-sensitive needs, and continuously refine communication approaches based on field feedback. Above all, they are a strong writer and collaborator who keeps the field experience at the center of every communication.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of store and field operations and the role communication plays in execution and performance.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex or fast-moving information.
  • Adept at explaining not just what is changing, but why it matters and how teams should execute.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, field operations, store operations, or field enablement roles.
  • Experience supporting field-based or multi-location organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aftermarket parts, retail, automotive, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
  • Familiarity with field leadership structures and frontline communications.
  • Experience supporting operational execution or change management initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver clear, timely, and actionable communications that support store operations priorities and execution standards.
  • Translate operational strategies, processes, and changes into concise, field-ready messaging for store teams and field leaders.
  • Drive consistency in field communications across all regions, reinforcing standard operating priorities and expectations.
  • Partner closely with Store Operations, Field Leadership, Training, IT, and other cross-functional teams to support initiative rollouts, pilots, and ongoing execution.
  • Create and maintain operational communication toolkits, including talking points, FAQs, execution guides, presentations, and field updates.
  • Support the Director of Field Communications and Execution in cascading priorities and reinforcing executional focus across the field.
  • Write, edit, and manage a variety of internal communications, including emails, newsletters, store communications, intranet content, and leader updates.
  • Manage communication calendars aligned to operational rhythms, seasonal priorities, and key business milestones.
  • Ensure all communications are accurate, easy to understand, and practical for store teams to apply.
  • Support communications related to operational changes, process updates, system enhancements, or policy changes impacting stores.
  • Assist with time-sensitive or high-impact communications to provide clarity, alignment, and confidence at the store level during periods of change.
  • Gather feedback from field and store teams to assess communication effectiveness and adoption of initiatives.
  • Track engagement and execution outcomes and adjust messaging, cadence, or tools as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve communication processes, channels, and best practices.
