About The Position

US Signal is seeking a Field CISO to join their team. This role will serve as a fractional CISO for their customers, acting as a strategic advisor who translates risk and compliance conversations into confident business decisions. The position sits at the intersection of sales and delivery, helping prospects understand their security posture before signing and continuing as a trusted advisor after the contract is in place. The role involves winning trust before contracts are signed by joining discovery calls as a security expert, assessing risk, and shaping solutions. It also involves being the fractional security executive customers rely on by building cybersecurity roadmaps, leading board-level briefings, and guiding IT leaders and compliance programs across various frameworks. The Field CISO will translate technical risk into business language for executives and boards, and will influence the company's advisory methodology, thought leadership, and the positioning of SOC/MDR and managed security services. The role focuses on executing customer advisory engagements to measurably improve security posture, with an emphasis on customer retention, trust, and real security outcomes rather than just deliverables.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), with deep knowledge of cloud, network, and application security, enterprise risk management, and leading security frameworks and regulations.
  • Proven experience leading security assessments, compliance reviews, and audit readiness initiatives across frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS, CMMC, NIST, and ISO 27001 through successful completion.
  • Maintains professional credibility through advanced industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCISO, CRISC, CGEIT, CISA, CCSP, CIPP, or equivalent credentials.
  • Ability to translate complex cybersecurity, compliance, and operational risks into clear business and financial impacts, enabling informed decision-making by executives and boards.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to build executive trust, influence strategic decisions, and support business growth across diverse industries and security maturity levels.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver cybersecurity advisory services across a portfolio of customers, leveraging repeatable methodologies, objective and vendor-neutral guidance, and effective prioritization to drive security program maturity, compliance readiness, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Customer-facing consulting and pre-sales experience, partnering with stakeholders to shape solutions, support revenue growth, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ Years Professional Experience in Information Security, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ Years Experience in information security and compliance experience, including prior experience as a CISO, vCISO, or senior security leader accountable for enterprise security programs.
  • Qualified candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must comply with US Signal Information Security policies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of US Signal and customer data.

Responsibilities

  • Join discovery calls as the security expert in the room to assess a prospect's risk posture, shape the right solution, and give sales teams the credibility that closes deals.
  • Build cybersecurity roadmaps, lead board-level briefings, and guide IT leaders and compliance programs across SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS, CMMC, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001.
  • Translate technical risk into business language for executives and boards, advising on threat landscapes, compliance gaps, or cyber insurance requirements.
