Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well. Salary range (but not limited to): 69,200 - 84,600 About the role We are looking for a Field Auto Appraiser to join our growing team in Edmonton on a 12-month term. This is a field-based role; you’ll be out on the road across the Edmonton region visiting repair facilities. Hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm MST, Monday to Friday, and a company vehicle is provided for job-related travel.

Requirements

  • College diploma, university degree, trade certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 to 3 years of collision repair and/or estimating experience
  • Proficiency with estimating software (Audatex and/or Mitchell); ability to prepare estimates in Audatex
  • Strong knowledge of auto physical damage repair and replacement principles/techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and attention to detail
  • Clear written/verbal communication skills (including drafting claim reports) and the ability to work effectively with shop owners/managers/appraisers
  • Customer-focused mindset and commitment to ongoing learning

Responsibilities

  • Determine the cause and origin of accident-related damage by inspecting vehicles using appraisal software; manage claims of varying complexity based on experience
  • Review, assess, and approve repair estimates for Claims Adjusters by comparing shop estimates to your appraisal findings
  • Establish vehicle market value when required, using approved tools and appraisal standards/procedures
  • Use digital estimating platforms to produce consistent, accurate repair estimates and minimize errors
  • Negotiate and communicate best repair practices with repair partners and stakeholders
  • Meet productivity and service-quality expectations in alignment with Appraisal standards and Claims objectives
