About The Position
National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering a wide range of insurance products through independent agents and directly to consumers. This role is responsible for creating or auditing comprehensive estimates of damages for auto or specialty lines material damage claims, leading to proper disposition. The position involves training, mentoring, quality control, and providing technical assistance on material damage claims. The Auto Claims Appraiser will work directly with repair facilities and customers, completing on-site estimates and vehicle appraisals. The ideal candidate will have experience managing auto claims, conducting vehicle inspections, and using CCC ONE estimating software.
Requirements
- Experience managing a variety of auto claims.
- Experience conducting vehicle inspections.
- Experience using CCC ONE estimating software.
- Possess strong estimating fundamentals.
- Possess a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Must terminate all existing insurance license appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
- Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.

Responsibilities
- Create or audit estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities.
- Possess a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
- Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document all activities in complex files across multiple lines.
- Evaluate settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
- Build strong relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines.
- Train, mentor, control quality, and provide technical assistance on material damage claims.
