Field Auto Appraiser
About The Position
National General is seeking an Auto Field Damage Appraiser to join their Claims team, supporting the Raleigh, NC territory. This is a remote, field-based role that manages auto claims both virtually and on-site. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a variety of auto claims, conducting vehicle inspections, and utilizing CCC ONE estimating software to produce accurate damage estimates. This role works closely with repair facilities and customers to ensure timely, fair, and thorough claim resolution. National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering home, auto, and accident and health insurance, as well as other specialty niche insurance products.
Requirements
- Experience handling a variety of auto claims.
- Experience conducting vehicle inspections.
- Experience utilizing CCC ONE estimating software.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Must terminate all existing insurance license appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
- If holding a resident producer license, must formally surrender that license when instructed by the licensing team.
- Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating when working from home.
- Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

Responsibilities
- Creates comprehensive estimates of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to proper disposition.
- Demonstrates sound estimating fundamentals to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses.
- Demonstrates basic understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
- Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within authority limits.
- Applies sound understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
- Builds functional relationships with both internal and external customers.
