About The Position

National General is seeking an Auto Field Damage Appraiser to join their Claims team, supporting the Raleigh, NC territory. This is a remote, field-based role that manages auto claims both virtually and on-site. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a variety of auto claims, conducting vehicle inspections, and utilizing CCC ONE estimating software to produce accurate damage estimates. This role works closely with repair facilities and customers to ensure timely, fair, and thorough claim resolution.

Requirements

• Experience handling a variety of auto claims.
• Experience conducting vehicle inspections.
• Experience utilizing CCC ONE estimating software.
• Possess authorization to work in the United States.
• Must terminate all existing insurance license appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
• Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
• Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating when working from home.
• Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive estimates of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to proper disposition.
• Demonstrate sound estimating fundamentals to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
• Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments and document all activities in the file within authority limits.
• Apply sound understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
• Build functional relationships with both internal and external customers.
