About The Position

As a Field Auto Appraiser, you'll be at the forefront of our claims process—meeting customers where they are, whether it's at their home, a repair shop, or a tow yard. You'll take the lead in writing estimates and guiding customers through the repair or total loss process, using a mix of in-person visits, virtual inspections, and written communication. Requirements

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to write precise and comprehensive estimates.
  • Comfortable with utilizing technology and various platforms for claims processing.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as part of the job requirements.
  • Must be located in Queens, NY.
  • Must be able to attend required virtual and in-person training sessions, actively participate in virtual learning activities, and successfully complete the training program.
  • Successful candidates must be able to attend 2-weeks of training in our Dallas, TX office.
  • As a condition of employment, may be expected to obtain an adjusters' and/or appraisers' license in multiple markets within 60 days of hire.
  • Must maintain all licensing required for the role, including any continuing education and/or other state-affiliated requirements for licensing renewal.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years' experience in auto collision estimating using CCC or Mitchell.
  • High School Diploma or a GED.
  • Active appraiser license or active adjuster license in TX, FL, or resident state (for sign-on bonus eligibility).

Responsibilities

  • Meeting customers at their home, a repair shop, or a tow yard.
  • Writing estimates for vehicle damage.
  • Guiding customers through the repair or total loss process.
  • Performing in-person visits and virtual inspections.
  • Evaluating damage on-site.
  • Collaborating with body shops and service providers.
  • Investigating claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
  • Using phone, emails, and video chat with customers to guide them through the claims process.
  • Incorporating a specific approach to claim handling to offer customers their preferred communication method.
  • Evaluating and negotiating claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants.
  • Utilizing multiple tools, including estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms.
  • Ensuring claims are documented accurately and in line with policy agreements.
  • Maintaining clear, timely records in the claims system.
