About the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) : The mission of the Indiana Gaming Commission is to provide a fair, transparent, and dynamic regulatory environment that encourages economic development while requiring the highest level of integrity of all activities under its jurisdiction. Role Overview : The Indiana Gaming Commission is looking for a Field Auditor to join our team. Your primary focus will be on casino tax filings and review of internal control changes. Audits of operations and reporting may require travel. You will play a key role in ensuring our casino partners comply with our regulations and rules. This position is located onsite in downtown Indianapolis Salary Statement : The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: Travel to and conduct audit procedures and tests of governmental units’ financial statements on annual schedule. Prepare reports presenting audit findings for submission to supervisor and agency. Communicate with staff of governmental unit under audit concerning issues such as procedures, technical interpretations, and results of audit. Track approvals for requisitions within assigned funds and grant funds. Track approved request modifications to purchase orders to relieve encumbrances/pre-encumbrances in funds. Create annual spending plan, biennial budget request and biweekly year-end forecasting. Provide a fiscal/programmatic review of all contracts initiated, amended, or extended within funds. Provide assistance to vendor inquiries with assistance from other fiscal staff. Perform related duties as assigned. Essential functions of this position require travel on most workdays to inspect, audit, examine, survey, or investigate clients, customers, or other regulated entities and write reports at those sites or employee’s home. Employee reports to the agency’s office for occasional meetings or events. Number and timing of work hours may vary daily or weekly to accommodate operational needs and staffing concerns at the client’s or customer’s worksite, minimize expenditures for repeated visits to complete the work, and allocate resources to complete assigned work effectively. This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
