About The Position

Perform diverse and complex financial, compliance, and operational audits of County agencies or businesses. Collaborate with other colleagues during all phases of the audit process, including developing the audit plan, audit objectives, audit scope, and audit procedures. Prepare audit programs to achieve audit objectives. Complete audits on time and within budget. Escalate any barriers or issues related to audit in a timely manner. Responsible for gathering and analyzing sufficient, appropriate evidence and data to reach a conclusion on the audit objectives. Conduct interviews with County agencies/bureaus to obtain an understanding of internal control structures and document understanding in a clear and concise manner. Prepare audit reports and management letters. Assist with following up on the implementation of audit recommendations. Communicate results of audits to leadership. This position may be eligible for a signing bonus.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a directly related field.
  • Two (2) years in audit, accounting, finance, compliance, risk control, or directly related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting audits under General Accepted Government Auditing Standards and the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Global Internal Audit Standards is preferred.
  • Experience conducting performance and/or operational audits of government entities is preferred.
