The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI) is the State planning agency for criminal justice, juvenile justice, traffic safety, and victim services. The institute develops long-range strategies for the effective administration of Indiana's criminal and juvenile justice systems and administers state and federal funds to carry out these strategies. Further, ICJI is responsible for coordinating and collaborating with local, state, and federal entities to identify, assess, plan, resource, and evaluate new and emerging issues facing the criminal justice and public safety spectrum. As a Field Auditor, you will serve as a regulatory compliance monitor for recipients of state and federal grant funds administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. Compliance monitoring is conducted through desk reviews and on-site visits. Travel is limited in this role, and daily responsibilities are carried out at the Indiana Government Center South. Compliance monitoring includes reconciling grant documentation against source records, researching state and federal statutes and regulations, preparing comprehensive reports with conclusions and recommendations, communicating with internal and external parties on applicable regulations, and exercising independent judgment in the application of appropriate regulations. The compliance monitor will also assist the Director of Compliance in developing training and guidance for both internal and external stakeholders to improve operational efficiencies and address common areas of concern. Applicants with grant experience are strongly encouraged to apply. An accounting degree is not required, and experience with grants and/or compliance is highly preferred.
