About The Position

This position ensures accurate data collection for the real property valuation process for new and existing properties. The role involves inspecting, verifying, inputting, and analyzing property data and sales to maintain an accurate database. It also requires reading and interpreting construction blueprints and site plans, staying current with relevant legislation, performing on-site physical inspections, and ensuring data accuracy in the CAMALOT system. The position also involves prioritizing daily tasks and projects to meet deadlines and goals.

Requirements

• Completion or working towards completion of a two-year Post-Secondary diploma in Property Assessment, Property Appraisal or equivalent.
• Must possess basic knowledge of assessment principles and assessment cycle.
• Must be proficient in a variety of computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite and CAMALOT software application.
• Mathematical and Statistical aptitude.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A high level of interpersonal skills, diplomacy and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently yet function in a team environment.
• Ability to organize workloads and complete assigned tasks on time.
• Ability to discuss and/ or explain the assessment process effectively with staff, stakeholders and customers.
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s License registered in Alberta or Saskatchewan with an acceptable Driver’s Abstract is required.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
• Successful applicant must provide proof of qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, verify, input and analyze property data and sales for the purpose of maintaining an accurate database for all property types.
• Read and interpret construction blueprints and site plans for input into the assessment system.
• Stay current and ensure compliance with The Lloydminster Charter, Municipal Government Act, municipal bylaws and relevant legislation pertaining to assessment.
• Perform on-site physical inspections and collect property attribute data for all types of properties.
• Ensure accuracy of data in Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMALOT) system.
• Prioritize daily tasks, assignments and projects to ensure deadlines and goals are met.
• Other related duties as required.
